Endodontic Therapy is a procedure used to save a tooth that has an infected nerve (pulp) by removing the infected nerve, dis-infecting the canal and sealing the canal where the nerve previously resided.
Infection of the nerve is caused primarily from deep decay and sometimes from blunt trauma to the tooth resulting in damage to the blood supply
The most common symptoms from an infected nerve are temperature sensitivity, chewing sensitivity, dull or throbbing pain, swelling, radiating pain and pain that is spontaneous and unprovoked.
